This ice fishing trip totally exceeded my expectations. It was our family’s first time ice-fishing. Andy made it so nice and comfortable that even I had a great time! Who would have thought? Ice fishing in a tent with a heater and chairs and plenty of yummy snacks and drinks while we fished. Andy took such great care of us. It felt like we were glamping ice fishing. He was a kind and very caring guide that made sure we were all comfy and had a great time. We will definitely look up Andy again next time we are in Colorado. It was definitely a fun activity for all of us and we caught plenty of rainbow trout today.

Our family had such an amazing time with Andy fishing on the river! He took out my wife and I and our two girls, 5 and 6. He was personable, friendly, and engaged in great conversation. He was very accommodating and good with the kids. He brought a few treats for them, and give them fun tasks on the raft to help with. He made sure they were a part of everything, from reeling the fish in, jumping in good swimming holes, or doing some beach playing. Andy knew exactly where to put the raft for good fishing spots, and he shared with us how to look for them. He shared some great fishing stories, knowledge, and history of the area. We were on the river for about 6 hours, and he made sure we caught a lot of fish. He bought all of the equipment we needed and made sure the fish kept coming. We kept all of our fish, and Andy even filleted and cleaned the fish for us, shared his recipes and we fixed them for dinner that week. It was a great experience to do as a family. We felt like we could truly relax and enjoy the river; we were safe and comfortable, and all of the logistics were done for us. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good fishing trip.

Thanks to Andy at Grand Valley River Excursions for putting us on the fish today. Got about 25 in the boat in 3 hours. If anyone is in the vicinity of Vail, Aspen, Glenwood Canyon or Grand Junction of Colorado I'd highly recommend him. Great day with the boys on the rapids!

Great trip down the Colorado River through the Glenwood canyon. I have always wanted to float that section of the Colorado River through Glenwood Canyon. I have been through there a million times traveling on I-70. My girlfriend mentioned that she wanted to float the river also, so I set up a one day trip up with Andy at GVRE. Everything went perfect. I talked to Andy on the phone a couple of times prior to the trip and he was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed to bring and he was also very reassuring when he mentioned to me that the first goal was to be safe, the second was to have as much fun as possible. I haven't fished for 30 years. I caught 10 fish, browns and rainbows, and I would have caught 20 if I would have known how to fish!!. Andy knows that section of the river so well that he just tells you when and where to fish to be successful. He also knows what time to get on and off of the river so you don't get caught in the middle of the larger tour float trips. My girlfriend loved the trip. She mainly just relaxed and laughed the whole time. Andy had plenty of snacks and drinks for us and he stopped whenever we wanted to explore or get off the raft and stretch. I would highly recommend this trip with Andy and GVRE to anyone out there. I know you have been wanting to float that section of the river. If you don't do it this year, you will be a year older next year!!

As a Colorado native, I’ve seen a lot of Colorado’s spectacular scenery including all the mountains, CO National Monument, State and Federal Parks. I had always wanted to take a raft trip down the Colorado River thru the Glenwood Canyon. I was fortunate to finally get to go on my birthday and what an incredibly special gift it was! It was such a unique, majestic, beautiful experience and you don’t want to miss it!
In addition to the spectacular pictures I took of the breathtaking views around every river bend, the excitement of watching my gentleman friend catch numerous brown and rainbow trout was exciting and entertaining as well! The pictures and memories are gifts that will keep on giving for a lifetime!
Andy at GVRE is the perfect guide for the perfect float trip to take pictures and enjoy the fun and safe adventure. He knows the river like the back of his hand and made special stops along the way. He offered various delicious snacks and water and Gatorade throughout the trip. Andy surprised us with Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars to help celebrate my birthday! (this was 4 hrs into the trip--how did he keep it frozen?!) He is the perfect guide who definitely goes above and beyond to make your trip incredibly special and memorable and tailored to your groups specific needs.
